DOBAU® Dachelastik 5 kg – roof sealing compound for bitumen membranes, wood, metallic & mineral substrates
DOBAU® Dachelastik is a pasty, thixotropic roof sealing compound based on solvent-containing polymer bitumen for producing seamless coatings (new waterproofing and refurbishment). Ideal for roofs with bitumen roofing membranes as well as for wood, metallic and mineral substrates.

Application
- Prepare the substrate: clean, dry, free from oil and grease, and sound and load-bearing. Remove loose particles and repair defects. Cut open bubbles and waves in roofing membranes and seal them properly.
- Primer: A bitumen primer is generally not required.
- Weather conditions: Component and ambient temperature > +5 °C. Protect from water, rain and frost during application and drying.
- Application: Stir the material thoroughly, spread it and apply with a coating brush or rubber squeegee in an even layer thickness in at least 2 coats (brush strokes parallel).
- Drying: Apply the 2nd coat only after the 1st coat has dried (depending on weather, usually after approx. 1 day).
- Connections / crack-prone surfaces: Work in reinforcing fabric (e.g. glass silk fabric). Method: pre-coat thinly, embed the fabric, press it down and fix it by recoating.
Important note: The product contains aromatic solvents and may attack rigid polystyrene foam. For refurbishment with insulation, use only solvent-resistant insulating materials (e.g. PU, mineral fibre).
