ISO-STRAW 1 Pallet 270 kg – Floor Fill Insulation for Wooden Beam Ceilings and Ceiling Cavities
Blown-In Insulation for Roof, Wall and Ceiling made from 100% Wheat Straw
ISO-STRAW is a blown-in insulation made from unbound chopped straw, produced from 100% regional wheat straw, untreated and free from additives. With the European Technical Assessment ETA-24/0228, ISO-STRAW is approved across Europe as an official construction product. ISO-STRAW is especially popular as a floor fill insulation or ceiling cavity filling (e.g. in wooden beam ceilings), because the high installation density not only provides very good thermal insulation, but also significantly improves sound insulation.
Why Choose ISO-STRAW as Floor Fill Insulation?
- Consumption: as floor fill insulation, approx. 5 bags per 1000 liters (m³).
- Strong sound insulation through mass: approx. 85 kg/m³ installation density, which is why ISO-STRAW is often used in intermediate ceilings.
- Settlement-safe in ceilings: tested settlement behavior in cavities (ceilings) sv = −0.5% (up to d = 330 mm).
- Summer heat protection: high heat storage capacity (c = 2100 J/kgK) effectively reduces temperature peaks.
- Vapor permeable: water vapor diffusion resistance μ = 2.8, supporting balanced moisture regulation.
Composition and Environmental Compatibility
- Composition: 100% wheat straw (unbound chopped straw), free from additives, untreated.
- Free from harmful substances (REACH 1907/2006/EC): biocidal active substances = 0%, boron compounds = 0%, SVHC = 0%.
- Climate-friendly: according to the brochure, 1.0 kg of straw permanently binds 1.85 kg of CO₂.
- Resource-efficient: straw is an agricultural by-product, so no additional crop-growing area is required.
- Packaging and recycling: vacuum-packed bags, return through processors possible, single-material recycling to reduce the packaging CO₂ footprint.
Professional Application Note
ISO-STRAW can be poured into ceilings by hand and installed with suitable blowing machines. Proper compaction is crucial, especially in roofs, walls, and ceilings, to reliably achieve settlement stability. ISO-STRAW is also used as loose fill in floor constructions.
