Adhesive Tape and Glue

Adhesive systems for airtight bonding of vapor control layers

The correct bonding is crucial for a permanently effective airtight layer. Only when vapor control layers, membranes, and connections are properly sealed does the structure remain airtight and protected against moisture damage.

Special tapes, adhesives, and sealants are used, specifically designed to meet the requirements of airtight construction. They ensure secure connections at overlaps, joints with building components, and penetrations such as cables and pipes.

Bonding is carried out at all critical points of the construction – especially at transitions, corners, and detail areas. Only with a system-compliant installation can the insulation perform at its full capacity and remain protected in the long term.

Applying adhesive systems correctly

For secure bonding, surfaces must be clean, dry, and stable. Depending on the substrate, primers can be used as adhesion promoters to ensure optimal bonding.

Overlaps of vapor control membranes are sealed airtight with special tapes, while connections to adjacent building components are often executed using permanently elastic sealing adhesives.

Special attention should be given to penetrations and connections, as most leaks occur in these areas. With coordinated adhesive systems and suitable accessories, these points can be sealed securely and permanently.
