The Universal Bonding Primer is a transparent, polymer-based pre-coating (primer) for all bitumen tapes. It binds dust adhering to mineral substrates, consolidates porous surfaces and creates a reliable bonding bridge – ideal for long-lasting, secure adhesion on concrete, stone, masonry and plaster.

Application
As a pre-coating for bonding bitumen tapes to concrete, stone as well as porous, absorbent mineral substrates.
The primer is used to bind adhering dust and to create a bonding bridge.
Processing Instructions
a) Preparatory work

The surfaces to be bonded must be cleaned.

The substrate should be dry, sound and free from loose particles, grease and heavy soiling.
b) Application of the pre-coating

Apply the primer thinly and evenly (e.g. using a brush or roller).

Before applying the bitumen tapes, the pre-coating must be fully dry.

The primer should be smudge-proof when touched with a finger.

The primed surface must remain dust-free and dry to ensure an intensive bond (e.g. with concrete).

Avoid contamination of the dried primer with dust or water, as this can reduce adhesion.
