DOBAU® Dachelastik 10 kg – Roof waterproofing compound for bitumen membranes, timber, metal & mineral substrates
DOBAU® Dachelastik is a paste-like, thixotropic roof waterproofing compound based on solvent-based polymer-bitumen for creating seamless coatings (new waterproofing and refurbishment). Ideal for roofs with bitumen roofing membranes as well as for timber, metal and mineral substrates.

Application
-
Prepare the substrate: clean, dry, free from oil and grease, firm and load-bearing. Remove loose parts and repair defects. Cut out blisters/waves in roofing membranes and overlap/patch properly.

Primer: A bitumen primer is generally not required.

Weather conditions: component and ambient temperature > +5 °C. Protect from water/rain/frost during application and drying.

Application: stir thoroughly, distribute and apply with a roof brush or rubber squeegee in an even layer thickness in at least 2 passes (brush strokes in parallel direction).

Drying: apply the 2nd coat only after the 1st coat has dried (weather-dependent, usually after approx. 1 day).

Joints / crack-prone areas: embed reinforcement fabric (e.g. glass silk fabric). Procedure: pre-coat thinly, place fabric, press in and fix by overcoating once again.
Important note: This product contains aromatic solvents and may attack rigid polystyrene foam. When refurbishing insulated roofs, use only solvent-resistant insulation materials (e.g. PU, mineral wool).
