TargoVENT WI is a three-layer wind barrier for façades with shadow gaps / open-jointed cladding (
façade membrane) for the exterior side of wall constructions – specially developed for open-jointed façades. Installation requirements: max. joint width 30 mm (up to 35 mm for trapezoidal cladding) and max. 30% proportion of open joints.
Installation notes:
Substrates must be dry and free from dust and grease. It is recommended to install the membrane horizontally and to overlap by at least 10 cm according to the marking line. Staple the lower sheet in the overlap area and secure the membrane after installation using the façade substructure.
Important: Chemicals, oil-based products or wood preservatives may damage the membrane; avoid installation over coatings that have not fully dried. Ventilation cavity: recommended min. 60 mm. Sealing/bonding (system recommendation):
Bond overlaps to be rainproof and windtight (e.g. TargoBENDIX UV); seal joints/details depending on the substrate (smooth: TargoBENDIX UV, rough: TargoFIX 1A).
Advantages
-
Specially suitable for façades with shadow gaps / open-jointed cladding (defined joint sizes 30 mm, 35 mm for trapezoidal cladding)
-
Highly vapour-permeable (Sd value approx. 0.05 m) – supports drying
-
Three-layer, tear-resistant and tear-propagation resistant – robust wind barrier
-
Water-repellent, UV-stabilised – ideal behind open-jointed façades
-
System warranty through coordinated Targo adhesive system (joints/overlaps)
