TargoVENT WX
TargoVENT WX is a heavy-duty, vapour-open and tear-resistant wind barrier for facades with shadow gaps / open cladding. The facade membrane is water-repellent and UV-stabilised. It is suitable as a wind barrier for facades with open joints. For visually open facades, the maximum width of the open joints is 40 mm, up to 50 mm for trapezoidal cladding. The proportion of open joints must not exceed 40%.
Installation Instructions
It is recommended to install the membrane horizontally. Overlaps should be made according to the marking line, with a minimum of 10 cm. Staple the lower membrane in the overlap area and secure the membrane after installation with the facade substructure.
Chemicals, oil-containing products or wood preservatives may damage the membrane. Avoid installation on coatings that have not dried. A rear ventilation gap of at least 60 mm is recommended.
Sealing/bonding (system recommendation): Suitable products from the Targo adhesive system are recommended for overlaps, connections, penetrations and nail penetrations. Seal overlaps with TargoBENDIX UV so they are rainproof and wind-tight. Seal connections depending on the substrate, smooth: TargoBENDIX UV, rough: TargoFIX 1A. For porous substrates, pretreat with TargoPRIMER M/S if necessary.
Advantages
- Suitable for facades with shadow gaps / open cladding, larger permissible joint widths up to 40/50 mm
- Highly vapour-open (Sd value 0.02 m), supports drying
- Tear-resistant and robust, three-layer wind barrier
- Water-repellent and UV-stabilised, ideal behind open facades
- System warranty through coordinated Targo adhesive technology
