TargoVENT WD
TargoVENT WD is a vapour-open and tear-resistant, three-layer wind barrier for use on closed facades. The membrane is water-repellent and UV-stabilised, making it suitable for professional use behind facade cladding (outdoor exposure: up to 2 months). From an ecological perspective, TargoVENT WD stands out thanks to its single-grade polyolefin, is building-biology safe and can be recycled.
Installation Instructions
- It is recommended to install the membrane horizontally.
- Overlap according to the marking line, minimum 10 cm.
- Staple the lower membrane in the overlap area and secure the membranes after installation with the facade substructure.
- Install the facade cladding so that no direct sunlight reaches the membrane.
- Chemicals, oil-containing products and wood preservatives may damage the membrane. Avoid installation on coatings that have not dried.
- Recommended ventilation cavity: minimum 60 mm.
Sealing Overlaps, Connections and Penetrations
- Substrates must be dry, dust-free and grease-free. Pretreat porous or dusty substrates with TargoPRIMER W/S.
- Seal overlaps with TargoULTRA or TargoBENDIX so they are rainproof and wind-tight, and press the adhesive area firmly.
- Connections: seal windows and upstands with TargoBENDIX, smooth components with TargoULTRA/BENDIX, and rough surfaces with TargoFIX 1A, securing mechanically if necessary.
- Seal penetrations, e.g. pipes, with TargoFlex. Pretreat mineral substrates with TargoPRIMER W/S.
