Knauf Supafil® Timber Frame – Glass Wool Blown-In Insulation (16.6 kg Bag)
Knauf Insulation Supafil® Timber Frame is a loose, water-repellent mineral wool / glass wool insulation material for timber construction systems. It is blown into cavities using machine technology with hoses and nozzles and is suitable for the insulation of cavities in walls, ceilings and roofs, offering an economical solution for new construction (prefabrication or on-site installation) as well as ideal for renovation, additional storeys and multi-storey timber construction.
Properties and Benefits
- Blown-in insulation for timber frame construction: walls, ceilings, roofs
- Water-repellent, resin-free and binder-free
- Very good thermal performance: design thermal conductivity λ = 0.035 W/(m·K)
- Building material class A1 (non-combustible)
- Settlement-safe: settlement class S1 (no measurable settlement ≤ 1%)
- Sound insulation is significantly improved
- High installation output, no cutting waste, highly compressed for transport and storage
Applications
For the insulation of cavities in walls, ceilings and roofs in timber construction, such as timber frame buildings. Suitable for new construction (prefabrication or on-site) as well as roof renovation, additional storeys and external walls in multi-storey timber construction.
Installation
- Installed as blown-in insulation with suitable machine technology in closed cavities
- Due to the high compaction, the insulation layer remains stable even if components are opened later (settlement-safe)

Material Consumption (Guideline Values)
Material consumption depends on the frame width and the required thermal insulation performance. As a guideline at 30 kg/m³, the minimum consumption per 100 m² is, for example:
- 100 mm (R-value approx. 2.9): approx. 18.1 bags / 100 m²
- 140 mm (R-value approx. 4.1): approx. 25.3 bags / 100 m²
- 200 mm (R-value approx. 5.9): approx. 36.1 bags / 100 m²
